Procopio is survived by his wife of 65 years, Tillie Archuleta of Clovis, NM and seven children, Linda Worts (Mike) of Minneapolis, MN, Rosella Kelly (Kevin) of Amarillo, TX, Florence Gonzales (Charles) of Sacramento, CA, Robert Archuleta (Patty) of San Jon, NM, Cecilia Yandell of Clovis, NM, Adrian Archuleta of Taos, NM, and Procopio Archuleta Jr. Procopio was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Lorencita Archuleta, brothers, Leopoldo and Abenicio Archuleta and sister, Pauline Pacheco. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Copio was a man of meager means but always said he was the richest man alive. He was a very wise man that was always willing to share his experiences good and bad so as to help someone else along the way. He was a genuine, non-judgemental man with a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. He taught his family to always push forward and never give up. Copio was a proud man who worked hard everyday to meet his families needs. This was his way of keeping his roots alive and passing them on to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all he loved the Archuleta Family Reunion at the Ranchito in Mosquero every three years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his vegetable garden and his yearly trip to Ruidoso. After retiring Copio was able to travel to California, Minnesota, Florida, New York, Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska. While raising his family of seven Copio worked as a mechanic, drove cement trucks, and eventually became plant operator for cement companies in Clovis. After starting a family Copio and Tillie eventually settled in Clovis, NM. He continued to work on the Libby Ranch until he married Tillie Arguello. He later went to work for wages on the Libby Ranch to help his family further. He left school at an early age to help on the family ranch. Copio was raised on the family ranch along with three brothers and six sisters, five miles east of Mosquero, NM. He was the third child of ten born to Jose and Lorencita Archuleta. Procopio Archuleta was born on Apat the Ranchito in Mosquero, NM. With family present Copio passed away the morning of October 7, 2014. In mid August he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was admitted to Retirement Ranch Nursing Facility in Clovis, NM. Copio had been in poor health for the past six months.
